“We won’t give up on Lumbuye” — Police


Uganda Police has said they have not surrendered the pursuit for social media pundit and blogger Fred Lumbuye.

Lumbuye was released by Turkish Authorities yesterday following two months in detainment at the Kocaeli Foreigners Detention Center in Turkey.

However, according to Uganda Police, they have not given up on the social media pundit, he is still a needed man to answer charges against him.

According to National Unity Platform (NUP) agent in Turkey, Hon Muwada NkunyingiLumbuye was informed of the forthcoming cases in Turkey in spite of his release.

“Our position is still the same,” Uganda Police spokesperson Fred Enanga told the New Vision.

so far 15 case files of evidence records were opened against Lumbuye and the police say they “will call him when he is in locale”.

“We are happy to discover that following a whole of being held under confinement, confidant Lumbuye Fred has been at last liberated. We are exceptionally appreciative to the lawful group, the diaspora group, and all individuals of generosity who did everything to guarantee that Mr. Lumbuye recaptures his opportunity,” a statement from NUP reads.
