Former principal accountant in OPM Kazinda sentenced to 40 years in prison .

Former Principal Accountant in the Office of the Prime Minister “OPM”, Godfrey Kazinda has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for illicit enrichment.

Justice Margaret Tubulya of the Anti Corruption Court in Kampala who presided over the case  has sentenced Godfrey Kazinda, the former Principal Accountant in the Office of the Prime Minister to 40 years in prison on Friday September, 24, 2021.

Kazinda was found guilty of forgery, having registered 420 ghost counts, causing financial loss and conspiracy among others.

Court further ordered the accused (Kazinda) to compensate government Ugx 19,171,476,505.

Justice Tubulya of the Anti-Corruption Court also ordered that Kazinda should not hold any public office for a period of 10 years from today C/S 46 of the Anti corruption Act 2009.
