President Museveni through a statement read by the Minister for Internal affairs Gen. Kahinda Otafiire described Gen. Lokech as a brave soldier with integrity. The President promoted Maj. Gen Paul Lokech Posthumously to the rank of Lieutenant General due to his great contribution to the country. He also promised to support the family of the fallen General.

Other mourners present were the Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya who immensely praised the fallen General, the Chief Justice Owinyi Dollo, fellow Defence chief Wilson Mbaadi, Ministers, UPDF senior officers, religious leaders, Legislators among others.

The burial ceremony happened amid a tight security presence following a foiled terror plot by suspected ADF agents in Pader on Friday.
