Bad times are still surfacing not only in Kampala that has been pinned the hub of Covid-19 infections but also in upcountry areas now.
Yesterday was a sorrowful day at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital as 7 patients died of Covid-19. Inside sources say that the death tolls are going up due to lack of enough oxygen at the facility.
“Many patients come here in need of oxygen, but the hospital does not have the capacity to put all of them on oxygen.”a health worker said.
Sources also added that in most cases, the patients are further referred to Mulago in Kampala yet Mulago is also already overwhelmed with the numbers.
We have also been able to find out that some health workers have also tested positive and many are admitted while others self-isolating something that has created shortage of man power at the facility.
