National Unity Platform has held a decisive meeting that was intended to select one who to be fronted as the candidate on the “chairman” position at the “BUGANDA PARLIAMENTARY CAUCUS” committee.
A chain of random events have transpired indicating the inaudible division within the “NUP” camp. The Mukono Municipality Legislator Hon Betty Namabooze Bakilekke surprisingly stormed out of the (NUP) meeting with a red head today June, 22, 2021 at the parliament.
The decisive meeting was indented to select one who to be fronted as the candidate on the “chairman” position at the “BUGANDA PARLIAMENTARY CAUCUS” committee.
Notably, the meeting seconded Hon Muwanga kivumbi (MP Butambala) over Nambooze as the chairman candidate, allegedly this is the projected likely cause of Nambooze’s misconduct.
Joel Ssenyonyi, the “NUP” spokesperson said “ we’ve agreed that we should only opt for five (5) positions out of ten (10) due to purposes of harmony with the rest of the opposition and independents” . “Other members seconded are, David kalwanga, Patrick Nsanjya, Joyce Bagala, and Christine.
Dressed in a white blazer, Nambooze expressed her unhappiness towards the meeting decision “I’m fighting for democracy, if I don’t see anything that is not transparent I step aside“. This however, seemed to have been a sarcastic response to cover up the wish for the position. On the contrary, her comments on democracy indicate the selfishness and loopholes with in the red camp. The “BUGANDA PARLIAMENTARY CAUCUS” Polls are scheduled to transpire tomorrow 23rd JUN 2021.
