Jacob Oulunya has won the speakership elections leaving his former boss in inevitable tears. The 11th parliament of the Republic of Uganda, has today 24th May 2021 exercised its democratic System by voting for its speaker and deputy speaker at Kololo Independence grounds.
The polls have had only three faces namely Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, Jacob Oulunya and Rebecca Kaddaga. Chief Justice Alfonso Owinyi Dollo has conducted the election and Oulanya the Mp of Omolo county emerged the winner of the speaker of the Parliament with 310 votes followed by Kadaga woman Mp Kamuli district with 197 votes, Ssemujju the Mp of Kira Municipality with only 15 votes and 2 invalid votes.
Only 17 Mps didn’t participate in this exercise, Later Oulanya sworn in as the speaker of the eleventh parliament of the republic of Uganda.
