Cheptegai shines again on the road. He claims men’s 3,000 m in Ostrava Golden Spike.

Joshua cheptagi over the night won the men’s 3000 m at the 60th Ostrave Golden spike. First organized in  196, Golden Spike is an annual athletics event at the Městský Stadion in Ostrava-Vítkovice, Czech Republic as part of the IAAF World Challenge Meetings. The Golden boy got beyond the limits and  improved on his prior  record of 7:33.26.

Height 1.67 m, Weight: 52 kg Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei is a Ugandan long-distance runner and 2019 world champion in the 10,000 m. Cheptegei is the tenth man in history to hold the 5,000 m and 10,000 m world records concurrently, both set in 2020. In 2017, he became the silver medalist in the 10,000 meters event at the World Championship in London.

Wednesday, the 24-year-old who has been untouchable on the track since 2019 by setting world records at 5000 m and 10,000 m did it again when he ran 07:33:24 to cross the tape in first place infront of 1500 fans allowed in the Městský stadium under loosening COVID-19 restrictions.
