The Uganda Netball National team (She cranes) defender Lillian Ajio announced her retirement from the national team in 2019 after retaining a knee injury at the Netball world cup that was held in Liverpool, England . She cranes vice captain played in 2015 and 2019 Netball world cup.
The prolific defender said that, she feels healed and ready to return to the national duty targeting the common wealth games. She plays for Prisons Netball Club in Uganda Netball league and she is training hard for the 2021 season that started on March, 16, and she hopes by the end of the season she will be fit to be recruited again to the national team.
The two time African netball championship winner in 2017 and 2018 said that the current team is not promising especially this time when they are eyeing for the common wealth games that will take place next year in Birmingham, England. Ajio is optimistic to join the “She cranes” again in order to groom some defenders because no senior players at National team at the moment to complete with good players in Common wealth games.
