UGANDA SUSPENDEDS ALL FLIGHTS FROM INDIA WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

The Health Minister, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng announced the percussion in preventing the cases of COVID-19 pandemic in the country, with immediate effect all flights from India to uganda have been ceased.“No travelers from India shall be allowed into Uganda regardless of the route of travel. All travelers who may have been to India or traveled through India in the last 14 days regardless of the route taken shall not be allowed into Uganda,” Dr. Aceng said.India has registered a high number of COVID 19 cases for the past weeks.

The death toll in India has hit 200,000, India recorded over 310,000 new infections for the recent days which is the world’s biggest single-day rise in coronavirus cases and more than 3,000 deaths.“All those who test positive shall undergo isolation at a government-approved isolation center at their own cost and those who test negative shall undergo self-quarantine under the supervision of Ministry of Health with mandatory re-testing between 5 to 10 days,” Aceng added.

However the temporary flight suspension will only affect passenger flights and will not affect cargo flights. It’s almost 5 months ever since the national lockdown was eased in Uganda leaving a few sectors closed while others partially opened how ever on the contrary, Ugandans seem to be getting reluctant in relation to the basic COVID-19 19 health percussions such as wearing face masks, social distancing among others.
