Over 200 police officers in the Kampala Metropolitan location have been skilled by the pornography control committee (PCC) today April 21st 2021 basing on the Anti-Pornography Act, 2014, sensitization of police officers commenced.
In a statement issued out by the police it indicates various places covered! “We started with the following areas: Mukono and Naggalama, Kira Road, CID Headquarters Kibuli and Kampala North based at Kawempe plus officers from Savanah region, in Luwero district,”.
Police personnel’s appreciated the content of the “Anti-Pornography Act 2014” and promised to indulge them self’s in the struggle to support the fight against the crime which includes Production and publication of pornography related materials.
The committee has representative from different government sectors/departments, ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of gender labor and social development among others. The Uganda Police force (UPF) was represented by Emilian Kayima, who is a member of the Multi-Sectoral Task Team, linking police to the Pornography control committee (PCC) and their operations.
On a crystal clear record a reasonable number of people watch pornography with a leisure mindset, some it’s an avenue that will help them to improve their sexual life through it causes addiction, inevitable destruction, depression among other dangers.
“Families and communities are faced with many crimes and rarely do we connect the dots to find the role pornography is playing in this. The heart and soul of any nation must never be destroyed by challenges we have come to know their grave effects like pornography,” said Dr. Annette Kezaabu, chairperson to the Pornography Control Committee (PCC).
